The Parrot’s Lament is about animal intelligence–non-human animals, that is. It always intrigues me that we refer to animals as “others”, as if we were somehow not part of the animal kingdom. What are we, then–fungi?
Anyway, The Parrot’s Lament describes certain animals, such as orang utans (escape experts) and African grey parrots, and tells the amazing things they can do. It was interesting, a lot of it was funny, and I enjoyed it.
